the first pair lasted a little over a year but the condition of which they were worn were pretty brutal. The sole near the toe on one shoe separated so I bought the second pair and as luck would have it the price was 10 dollars cheaper than the first. All in all they fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable.

I got the shoes because I wanted a water resistant shoe to wear for yard work and gardening, and I really didn't want to spend very much since I expect them to get yucked up pretty quickly. Usually I wear a 9 or 9.5, and the extra .5 shoe size is usually needed for extra toe box width. Since the only size available was a 9, I wasn't sure if they would fit comfortably. I was very pleases that the nice wide toe box made the shoe very comfortable, and I was even more pleased with the shoe after they kept my feet nice and dry while gardening and exposing my feet to a good bit of water.

Update and a reduction in star value. Wrap your toes in moleskin before venturing out in these shoes for a long period! I used these for several hours of walking on a recent trip and was in agony due to many awful blisters. These shoes are not breathable at all. My feet got damp and the toes rubbed together forming huge and painful blisters. I had to stop several times on different occasions to wrap my toes with whatever bandages I could source. I tried moisture-wicking sports socks and cushioned activity cotton socks to no avail. I was hoping for an overall solid walking shoe for city hikes - these are fine for short walks but not for situations where feet may sweat.

These did fit a bit on the larger size; I'm a true size 8, sometimes even a wide. However during the day, my feet do swell and I need the room.
